For those who still enjoy the morning newspaper while enjoying your first cup of daily caffeine intake, you probably have heard of the popular comic-strip, BIG NATE by Lincoln Pierce, which is featured in over 200 newspapers around the country (and online at gocomics.com). The rambunctious middle schooler recently made the leap from syndicated comic strip to bestselling young-reader book series. Newman was once again called into action, providing radio and television book publicity, promoting this latest book in the Big Nate series, BIG NATE ON A ROLL.

We had the chance to go in-studio with Lincoln Pierce to produce the tour with the help from our friends at Boston Bureau Production. It is always a thrill to see these tours in action with a behind the scenes view and in the end, Lincoln completed a number of interviews including features with some great stations and shows including:

The Gods of Greenwich

Author: Norb Vonnegut
Publisher: Minotaur Books

The Gods of Greenwich

Norb Vonnegut, the best-selling author of Top Producer, returns to the high stakes world of Wall Street in The Gods of Greenwich. Hired to provide a full book publicity tour for The Gods of Greenwich, Newman guided Vonnegut through a book publicity campaign from galley stage to finished books. With an impressive financial background, author Norb Vonnegut used his experience on Wall Street to offer a (fictional) peek into the lives of America’s most powerful people. Newman’s book publicity campaign helped orchestrate a successful book launch party in NYC, two New York Times articles, a series of book signings, amongst other fantastic interviews.

Norb is working on a follow up to Gods of Greenwich, set to be finished this summer.

Norb’s recent media successes:

New York Times book critic Janet Maslin dubbed the The Gods of Greenwich one of the summer’s ‘books to bury yourself in‘.

The Boston Herald’s Jim Sullivan sat down with Vonnegut to discuss the worlds of finance and literature.

Norb discusses the real people behind The Gods of Greenwich on MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan Show :

About the Book:

Vonnegut delivers a recession-era nail-biter in THE GODS OF GREENWICH, the story of a super-powered hedge fund and a new employee who suspects a deadly secret behind its spectacular quarterly gains. Vonnegut illuminates with startling precision the dark places lurking in the collective psyche of the financial industry’s elite, and he uses that insight to fuel an electrifying tale of suspense.

About the Author:

Norb Vonnegut is from a military family and spent his formative years in Charleston, SC before heading to Phillips Exeter Academy, then Harvard, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1980. He went on to get his MBA from Harvard Business School. Before becoming a full time writer, Vonnegut worked at Silvercrest Asset Management as a Managing Director responsible for equity and fixed income portfolios. He has also worked for Morgan Stanley, PaineWebber, Kidder Peabody, and Chase Manhattan. Vonnegut is a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Foundation for the Blind and bicycles whenever possible.

He is a distant cousin to the late Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut blogs on The Huffington Post and on Acrimoney.com, a website that covers the wild world of Wall Street and the culture of finance. He is currently working on his third novel.

Newman PR Getting WIMPY? Well, not exactly. In fact, Newman is feeling quite bold about its recent work with Jeff Kinney, author of the mega-best selling “DIARY OF A WIMPY KID” series. Newman recently coordinated a Satellite Television Tour for Kinney, helping him virtually tour the country talking about his latest entry in the series “The Ugly Truth“. Audiences in markets such as Denver, Baltimore, San Diego, Detroit, Sacramento, Raleigh, Hartford, Portland, Orlando, among many others enjoyed hearing from Jeff about the book and the growing pains experienced by his main character, Greg Hefley. “The Ugly Truth” is the 5th book in the series — which have sold a total of more than 40 million copies worldwide!!

It’s been quite a ride for Jeff Kinney. In it’s first three days, the book has sold over 700,000 copies and landed at #1 on the NY Times best seller list, putting our former President, George Bush at #2. In 2009, TIME Magazine named him one of the top 100 “Most Influential People” in the world. He also saw an adaption of the book made into a movie and another will be on screen in 2011. This year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature a balloon of Greg Hefley for all to enjoy.

What’s next for Kinney? More entries in the Wimpy Kid series of course! We are sure that millions of Greg Hefley fans just can’t wait to learn what’s in store for him the next time around. Newman will be waiting to in hopes of working with Jeff Kinney again.
